Flor de Fuego

Artisanally distilled from white corn and panela (unrefined cane sugar), Chaparro is the traditional spirit from El Salvador since the Mayan times. The name derives from the chaparro tree whose wood is used during the distillation process. Burning of wood from this tree produces a minimal amount of smoke.

Flor de Fuego is a pioneering Salvadoran distillery, led by Claudia Caceres, dedicated to elevating chaparro as a premium traditional spirit to represent Salvadoran heritage globally with a unique, slightly sweet flavor profile.

Located in Guazapa, San Salvador, the distillery utilizes copper stills to blend traditional artisanal methods with high-quality industrial standards. The distillery was instrumental in establishing the Denominación de Origen (Appellation of Origin) for Chaparro, which protects its production methods and ensures its quality.

Flor de Fuego’s artisanal small-batch distillation creates a smooth, sophisticated spirit described as having notes of fruitiness and light caramel. Claudia also produces a range of naturally infused chaparro liqueurs made with local fruits such as tamarindo and nance.
