Made from high altitude Negro Andino maize morada, Black Whiskey was created in the style of bourbon, with a mash bill of 60% Andean black corn, 15% malted barley, 15% malted wheat and 10% Peruvian unmalted wheat. Aged in new American white oak barrels, this prize-winning whisky at the 2022 Forbes New York World Spirits Competition was named the best whiskey in the world.

Don Michael Andean Distillery is the only distillery that produces this type of Black Whiskey, developed by master distiller Michael Kuryla, inspired by the history and culture of Peru to create a unique spirit blending traditional Peruvian ingredients with modern whiskey-making techniques. The distillery’s portfolio also features Andean Gin, Andean Vodka, and Andean Cream, each reflecting the rich flavors of Peru’s native ingredients.
