Helena’s Sauvignon Blanc grapes are cultivated in Leyda Valley, a premier cool-climate coastal subregion within San Antonio Valley, Chile known for vibrant, saline-driven wines. Only 4–12 km from the Pacific Ocean, the area’s high maritime influence, morning fog, and granitic soils create a slow-ripening, low-yield environment that results in high-quality, mineral-rich, and high-acidity wines. Clay and loam soils over a granite base challenges the vines to produce small, concentrated, and intensely flavored grapes.

Conditions particularly favoring Carménère selected by Helena’s winemaker are found in the coastal hills of Colchacagua, cooled by the Pacific breeze and Andean winds for an extended ripening period. The result preserves acidity in the grapes and produces reds of excellent color, great freshness and excellent cellaring capacity.

Among the 180 hectares of red grape vineyards cultivated in Sagrada Familia valley, Helena’s selection of Petit Verdot benefits from a 20-degree day-to-night temperature difference, ideal conditions for the quality, color, and concentration of this varietal.
